Continue with what? I'm just trying to make you think at least a bit before you hit the "post" button again. The other day you said you were going to the library (yes, they have them in Canada). Did you find anything good to read?
-
Canadians are Sexy!
-
Yea... To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, pretty crappy book!
-
(rolling eyes...) You actually read it?
You seem to have a great interest in government. I suggest you read up on that subject.
-
Yes, about Atticus, Jem and Scount somewere in Alabama, slavyer, boring junk...More like law, I took Canadian Law for next year, then next year i can take world law, so i shall see how this law system works.
-
Yeah, boring junk. Nothing blowing up. Try reading it again when you're older. You can read. You obviously have time on your hands. You don't need to be a sheep and wait to be taught. Go get a book and read it. Or wait until the end of next school year before posting on the subject.

In reply to: First of all, I want to thank Unsupervised for being such an incredibly awesome example of Canadian hotness. awwww. thanks ^_^
-
as do so many lately
-
Yup, just because someone doesn't like something (or doesn't understand it) doesn't mean that it's crappy.
-
Damned straight I was/am.I need a life time supply of chapstick to fix the damage to my lips from all the asskissing Iv been doing as of late.I told youbastards, I got a good woman she also just happens tobe capable of long stretches of no sex and effective at keeping me under her thumb.
-
Stain >>> That's to bad you think that, seeing as that is one of the greatest pieces of literature of all time. Maybe when your older, I guess.Chance >>> Awww poor baby...
-
I didn't like it cause it was too slow paced, especially the intro part, it barely did have much to do with racism and such, plus comparing it to Romeo and Julite in an essay, twas hard.
-
Pfffffffft !
Dont poor baby me !
I siad I got a good woman, not some moronic hag, I need no pity, Im happy to be under her thumb.
unless you were pitting my chapped lips from kissing her ass?
even then, its a lovely ass, I dont mind kissing it at all, its a high light of my life, anyone else should be so lucky. -
In reply to: it barely did have much to do with racismAre you kidding me? That's the main theme of the book. The court case against the black guy (I can't remember his name, it's been awhile since I read it) and the lack of credibility he gets as opposed to the prominent voice the white trash guy who is known for being dishonest gets is one of the most obvious shows of racism in the book. Why does someone who should lack credibility receive more support than an innocent man, who has never committed an offense, because of skin colour. Now I'll admit that I didn't find it too interesting the first time I read it, but the second time I did it was far more interesting and I had much greater appreciation for it. You may find the same if you read it again. It's not a thrilling suspense or action book, but it has many deep messages and takes a view of many themes we don't encounter in every day literature. Seeing the story largely from Scout's point of view is another interesting part because you see a biased world through innocent eyes.

Stop picking on purple, hes illiterate and cant understand concepts and complete thoughts. Its not nice tobe mean to special people. Thats why i gave up picking on him
-
Well said. And that's why I read books twice. They're so much better the second time around and if you aren't reading it for a class.
-
I can't remember when I first read it, but I think it was also an age thing. I just wasn't interested in it the first time because I wasn't into the lack of excitement and all that, kind of like Purple. But yah, reading things for class can definitely take the enjoyment out of them because you read it so you can memorize certain things and do well on essays and quizzes. What's the fun in reading something so you can argue a side of it in essay form, as opposed to appreciating something and arguing about it because you're have a deep interest in it.
-
I did the same thing (although I did like it the first time). I re-read it as soon as the 9th grade assignment was done.
If someone with a short attention span who needs to see things blow up every minute doesn't like the book, the fault does not lie with the book. I'm not sure that I would have enjoyed it if I were ten years old either.
-
Yes, i know about Tom Robinson, it was an intense case but it was kinda boring at the beggining of the case since well they acted kinda weird and dull, after a while when Atticus started actually coming out of his shell, probaly best part of the book. I just hated the guy that always stayed in the house and they were scared of him! but he helped Jem and Scout out alot! When mrs maudys house burnt down he gave them a coat and they didnt know it, oh well at the end it was a good ending thats all i can say Pity that Tom Robinson died!! We all knew that they framed him!!!!Btw the book is a coming of age, just like Romeo and Juliet. The intro was though well boring!
-
maybe the problem is that it wasn't written by a Canadain
-
Thank ya, I'm Canadian eh? Too bad the Edmonton Oilers lost the stanley cup to carolina the other night
