Hey,Me and my boyfriend wanna have sex but we are concerned about STDs and things. Anal transmits more STDs and stuff right? How can you provent them or at least lower the chance of transfer (and I mean like HIV cause we're both clear of other STDs). And then what about Oral? Whats the chances of transfer then and how can you lower them? Thanks,All help is greatly appreciated

Gay Anal & Oral
-
In general, oral transmits less easily than vaginal, and anal transmits more easily than vaginal. But if one of you has HIV and the other doesn't, you should use protection even for oral.
-
Sorry to sound a bit n00bish about this, but what if none of you have HIV/AIDs, it can still be transferred from the sperm entering the other males body correct (via anal)?
-
Nope. you cannot give someone HIV/AIDS unless you have HIV/AIDS. HIV/AIDS does not appear out of no where or "created" because of gay sex. It's a virus. If two people have sex, both of which do not have HIV/AIDS than they cannot get HIV/AIDS from each other.

Why is HIV and homosexuality always seem to be paired together? For some who donâ€(tm)t approve of gays they will point out that they are one of the causes of it or even medically they seem to be associated (not the cause but mentioned). I don't know to much, or anything really, about this topic.
-
In the West, it is more common in gay people, probably because it is much more easily passed on through anal sex than through vaginal sex. However in Africa (and Asia?) this isn't so - it has been suggested that it's because when there are other STDs as well it is passed on much more easily.

The ignorant suggestion (that I have heard more than once but don't have info on, nor do I wish to start a petty flame war) is that homosexuals are more transient than hetrosexual couples (At least for gay men) ALTHOUGH THIS IS NOT TRUE TO EVERYONE. On the homosexual side, there are still those who are gay who believe that they don't have to wear a condom, since they're not worried about pregnancy. Thankfully this is a shrinking minority. In Africa and Asia, it's a lack of education and protection that causes thier problems.IE: In parts of Africa, 'virgins' are thought to be disease free (despite the fact they may have HIV from birth), so more guys will rape or purchase a small girl for sex. The other part of it, is that some men over there believe that having sex with a virgin will cure them of aids. That leads to more rape and prostitution.

In Africa and Asia, it's a lack of education and protection that causes thier problems. The U.S. prefers to support abstinence rather than condom use. Abstinece education does little good in preventing the spread if HIV, but condoms do a lot of good.Cambodia has made great progress by pushing the use of condoms:In reply to:Cambodia has cut the prevalence of H.I.V. in adults from 3 percent in 1997 to about 1.8 percent today. In rural Cambodian towns like this one, billboards and posters promote condoms, and clinics and brothels have buckets of them. Health centers don’t have X-ray machines or oxygen tanks, but they have phalluses to show visitors how to put on condoms. The administration has taken information about condoms off government Web sites. Not very wise.In reply to:Careful studies of “abstinence only†programs in the U.S. suggest that they do delay sexual intercourse, but that young people are then less likely to use condoms afterward. The evidence indicates that a balanced approach — encouraging abstinence but also promoting condoms — is far more effective at protecting young people in America or abroad from sexually transmitted infections, including H.I.V.In the past, social conservatives routinely cited Uganda as proof that it’s best to focus just on abstinence. It’s true that Uganda cut H.I.V. rates significantly, partly by promoting abstinence and fidelity — but also by promoting condoms. More recently, Uganda has been backing away from condoms, with U.S. support, and its H.I.V. prevalence is rising again.[Quotes from Nicholas D. Krostof, NYT, 19 Dec. 2006]

It is shameful some people still cling to an outdated, ignorant, and socially irresponsible belief that people will abstain from sex.Thankfully, there is a growing number of official organizations that support condom use. Various AID's organizations are the best at promoting responsible sex.

Why is HIV and homosexuality always seem to be paired together?Because there was a time when the HIV virus was predominantly in the homosexual class of people (gay men to me more specific) 1) because of anal sex and 2) protection was rarely used. But now this is not true. There has been a significant decrease in the infection rate among gay men now that the virus is more publicly known thus more gay men using condoms. There has actually been a huge increase in infection in the heterosexual African American population. If I remember correctly it’s something like 50% of the AIDS cases are now African American. Regardless HIV is not a gay only virus or a virus that was created by homosexuals. >For some who don’t approve of gays they will point out that they are one of the causesOf course they would. People need someone to blame, even if it’s factitious. >I don't know to much, or anything really, about this topic. Not to worry You learn things by asking.

Well umm, i thought HIV could be caught through the sperm of the one male entering the other... so is that not true then...? If you get me.

I don’t know how much more clearly I can make this lol. Let me try again. This goes for both straight and homosexual people:If both people are clean with no STD’s than you CANNOT transmit any STD’s between the two clean please. STD’s do not just magically appear. They have to be present in order to give it to someone else. BUT if one person has an STD and the other person does not have an STD, than the infected person can transmit the STD to the clean person.Does this make more sense??? Regardless you should always play it safe and use protection!! There is not shame or embarrassment in using condoms. Especially when it comes to anal sex it makes it cleaner and lube stays longer on the condom than on the flesh (because flesh can absorb the lube). One more thing, and I don’t mean this to be mean or rude but if you are unsure about how to NOT contact STD’s than perhaps your best to stay away from sexual relations until you know more about it. It’s better to be safe than sorry later.

The EJACULATE carries STDs and HIV to the new host. But it CAN NOT cause it. It must be present in one of the two people BEFORE the second person can get it.

Sorry if I sound stupid and all, but its just a little hard to take HIV in, because I've read and heard from places that HIV is caused by the males sperm entering the body. This is what I got really confused about.
You have cleared it up not any way. Thanks - everyone
