As you all probably know, im a pretty huge potter fan. I got up super early to buy the book this morning and suceeded And because im so paranoid that i'll find out what happens at the end, I wont be coming online until I finish the book. I wont be going on the internet at all because the last book was ruined for my boyfriend because of stuff on the internet.I'll miss all of you. I have to work tonight and then i'm off until Wednesday. I just read part of it, so I will probably be back on in a few days.( I know i'm crazy, but I grew up on this series, and I absolutely love it )Love you all,-Ashley XOx

Wah! You're one of the lucky ones. I was working late last night and didn't get my copy. Won't get mine until Sunday. But you are doing the smart thing, lol. I got spoiled for the ending to Prisoner of Azkaban thanks to the evil internet. So, when I get my copy, I will be joining you in your worthy cause, lol! Well, sorta. I'll just avoid sites and thread with the words "Harry Potter" in them. Oh, have fun reading the book honey!
-
o i will. and OMG i dont know if anyone else knows about this or not but [AMUSEMENT PARK][0]
i imaged searched, and this is what i found. theres a video too.
im only on the second chapter of the book and its already amazing
-
LOL! That's a great idea! If your book series has ended, the next thing to do is to make a theme park out of it. But it's in Florida? Damn you, Florida!
-
well im here in newfoundland and im DEFINATELY going when it opens.
-
I haven't even read the 6th book and already the 7th is spoiled for me..
-
Lol I can't blame you. I got to Barnes and Noble at 9 o'clock last night to wait for the book. I've been reading practically non-stop since I got it. I slept for 45 minutes last night, went to work and came home, and have been reading ever since. I'm so excited now haha less than 300 pages left.
-

Read the book. Had the most lovely time getting it, went to the midnight launch with a few friends, just for the laugh. I was waiting in line from 11:30 until 1am, still never actually got into the shop. So I thought "Feck this" and walked down the road where I found another book shop with no lines outside. I walked in, the place was empty (they were obviously far more efficient at the selling) and I just went up to the counter and bought the book, at half price! So I went home, read it and am now content. I'm still surprised about the end, I can't believe that blah blah blah....
-
yeah all this talk about how much of a bitch it is, and i walked into meijers today and they had atleast 50 copies if not more... im just not all that interested in them, nor spending 26 dollars on it
-
Yeah, I don't get why folks would wait in line at midnight to get them when I've been in two Wal-Marts today and they both had tons of copies left for under 19 clams.
-
yeah well i guess they just want it as soon as possible, i mean i like the movies, but i never really got into the books, my mom thought they were satanic or something because they mentioned witchcraft even though if you actually look at it, its pure fantasy she was just very ,touchy in those days but has since realized that not everything we have an interest in is satanic

Getting the book early has nothing to do with them possibly running out of copies. Its just cause since I read the book and returned to my computer, I've found several sites blurting out the ending quite openly. Some people have been waiting for the final book for nearly 10 years, they want to be able to read it and enjoy it before some arsehole ruins it for them.
-
No kidding, I read most of the book and only had the end to go. I went to class this morning and a bunch of girls were loudly discussing Harry Potter and what happens at the end. What really annoyed me was the fact none of them actually liked Harry Potter, and all they knew about the last book was from one girl who had apparently picked up the book, read the last few pages and put it back.
Thankfully they got most of the details wrong, but at the time I didn't know that and was quite annoyed. -
When I was waiting in line, groups of people walked by shouting out "Blah-blah dies!" with the books open in their hands on the final pages. I thought that they had ruined the book for myself and countless others but when I finally read the thing I found that they were completely wrong. I'd guess that they were lying, just trying to wind people up.

Maybe I'm being kind of a book snob here, I dunno. But when I read a book, I want more out of it than to know what happens next. Reading the book is an experience I enjoy and I usually want it to last at least several days, that is if it's a good book. But I understand too that some people enjoy carving out a day to read an entire book. And I guess I especially understand if there's a chance of having it ruined for you.

With this latest Harry Potter book its very hard to spread it out over a few days. Its incredible how big an effect it has on the whole story when you overhear someone saying something about it. You can go through the entire book and it loses meaning, if you know someone is going to die then you lose all of the interaction and connection that you have with that character. You just turn page after page, waiting for them to expire. One piece of information can actually ruin the entire story.

I'm the type of person who reads the last page of a book before starting it but honestly when I did that with this particular book, I found that knowing the who dies didn't take away from the book at all. There's way too much going on so it still left me surprised.
