So i had my surgery at bout 7:30 am earlier today and it was a bitch to sa the least. It was supposed to be an and out sort of thing. I ended up having to stay til 3pm. I got sick as a dog and everytime they tried to move me i got more sick. They gave me every drug they could from IV injections to those things they stick in your butt, and things they stick behind your ear. I ended up just being one of those unfortunate patients that was a rare case.At the moment im on vicodin and its helping a little bit. I sound very weird when i talk and it hurts when i try. Also any movement hurts and it burns when i pee. Peeing takes me a while its almost like im constapated except for pee and not poop. But overall the surgery part of it went good and i should be fine within the next 3 or 4 days.P.S somehow my tooth cap broke in half. They went to gave me a sip of water and it broke in half(so now i have to get that fixed)

Hernia Surgery (Post Op)

It sounds like you've more than your fair share of trouble with it. At least, though, these things will all recede into the past and the beneficial effects of the operation will continue.

Glad you're doing "ok" though. Tell me, was the sick part just from the surgery or from the medication?
Also if they put a tube down your throat to breathe for you, that's most likely why you have a chipped tooth. You may have bitten down on the scope they use to guide the tube. If not, I don't know how else to explain it.
Sorry about that though. But as pete said, it'll go back to normal in a few days.

P.S somehow my tooth cap broke in half. They went to gave me a sip of water and it broke in half(so now i have to get that fixed) Hmmmm I see this all the time in my office, trust me your crown is not going to break because you sipped on water. Generally it's something the doctors did, though not sure why they would need to be in your mouth when you had a hernia operation unless you had a traque (spelling?) tube...? You’d be surprised how many people come out of surgery and have chipped/broken teeth. The hospital’s generally will take fault and pay to have the tooth repaired.

I think the sickness was from the medication. Im still having trouble peeing which is a side effect from some of the med they gave me. And i think i did bite down on something when i was haing surgery.
