Yea, i've been trolling around the forums a bit recently, now I actually have something to post. So anyways, I've been feeling a little depressed again. I'm such a god damn loner. I have, an amazing 3 friends. I talk to lots of people IN SCHOOL, but when they are outside of school, they aren't people I wanna hang around with. I suck at meeting new people, as I don't really know how to start up a conversation. So yea, and then there's the problem that I can't fucking do anything anymore. Anyways - the issue here, is i'm missing out on so much shit I wanna do right now. Last October, I fucked up my knee. So, I was once heavily into sports, now I can't play anything. I wanted to play for my school's football team. Not happening. Curling team. Not Happening. I can't play hockey anymore. So I'm missing out on so much shit I used to enjoy doing, now i'm forced to sit on the sidelines and watch. It's fucking making me feel even more depressed.

sorry i don't know... but i wanted to ask what is Curling?
-
lol. its when you curl your hair.jking. It a weird sport. Had a curling club in the town I grew up in.. never got into it.
-
A sport where you push rocks (not literal rocks) down ice and try to get it close to the circle. The rocks can curl, hence the name. It's really pretty big up here in Canada. Not my cup of tea though.

Is there any way that you can rehab your knee to play sports? If so, it's a goal to work up to, which may make you feel less depressed.
-
Nope. My knee is completely fucked. Surgery is the only way to fix that, but my doctor says that were going to avoid surgery as much as possible.

Does your school have any other clubs, or does it have any other after school activities that wouldn't involve you straining your knee to do? Maybe you could try to get involved in one of those. You could meet some new people without having to start up a conversation, you'd have no choice but to talk with them, which could ultimately result in new friends. This might be an idea for you to consider, since you said your doctor dosn't want to look into surgery. Just an afterthought, I used to play field hockey too but I can't anymore, so I get how annoyed you are at that. Have you maybe considered assistant coaching or something, where you don't have to do too much physically but are still getting to interact? I did this and though it's not as good as playing the game, it's still pretty rewarding!

I think your doctor is WRONG for putting off the surgery. Orthascopic surgery is a cinch these days and leaves a minimal scar. Recovery is fairly fast.
If you just went ahead and had it done, you could be on the path to recovery.
PS Sorry I tried to reply to the OP -
Hmm isn't there any other spots managing any of the football/curling teams etc etc? At least then , your still involved in the activity!!If not then , what about other non-athletic groups? Are you having any kind of physio on your knee ?Tor x

Honestly... my doctor doesn't want me doing anything, other than the proper exercises for it, but those just make it worse. And being 14, I don't have a choice for surgery, really, and the managing of sports teams is all the teachers.

That's tough. Is there any alternative thing you can get into that you'd enjoy?
