i'm still not convinced, but why is it soo hard to agree that it's even? why do we have to dissect every little phrase and see who can possibly have it harder or easier? why cant we just agree that's its about equal, ok so the vagina has menstruation to deal with, well, i'd rather know exactly when to prepare for it then to have a wet dream due to semen buildup, and that can happen whenever. granted, it doesn't happen for days at a time, but there is no guard nor protection for nocturnal emissions, they don't make tampons that small. You can't really call that descrimination if a woman chooses to get pregnant and then opts for the maternity leave. what's the employer to do? pay her for the days she's not there? sure, but pay for 40 hours a week, naw. you have to remember that the employer has to do what's best for the company, and if that includes letting you have time to get acquainted with you with your new born child, then what would you rather have? time with your little bundle of joy? or a complete 40+ hour paycheck? cuz you can't have both. And even some mothers choose to go part-time afterwards, they can't pay a part time employee full time wages. so you see, it's not descrimination when the circumstances are due to pregnancy

Who has it harder
-
you seemed to not get my point, i'm not talking about a woman who is pregnant, or even one who has a child. women get paid less because its a possibility they can get pregnant, and that is descrimination.the only job where a female can make more than a male is porn and modeling. so basically, selling your body.i would say its equal, but its not.

black and whites have equal opportunities, of course not, but i do believe that if people stopped trying to make things harder then what they are, we could be more equal. if we stopped trying to force affirmative action, equal opportunity, reparations for slavery, that whole bullshit scene, then maybe people would stop thinking that we are trying to get ahead based entirely on our skin color. Affirmative action i believe is completely pointless, to let minorities have an equal chance in the work force and education system simply due to skin tone and ethnicity...i'm sorry but that's just wrong, to me, we should have to work, just like everyone else. Granted, AA does mean that you have the skills and qualities to get into that specific field or area, you can't just show up expecting to get in. Reparations for slaverly? that's just a joke. why should people now get money for something they didn't even suffer from? And, slaverly wasn't just happening here in america, africans were using slaves that came from defeated tribes way before europeans got there. If anyone deserves reparations, it should be living jews who were in the camps, and perhaps their offspring, but not their families 120 years from now because of something that hitler did in the 30-40's.
-
oh ok, but what i meant by that statement was, that people should stop trying to use it as a way to get ahead in life.
-
women have it harder but if you're a guy and you're gay you have it just as hard if not harder than any woman because people are just jerks these days...
-
since i just got a reply from ineligible(sp?) about the above reply...no, i'm not gay...lolthe reason i said it seems harder for gay men is because i've noticed a lot of gay bashing lately...so it just seems more difficult for gay men...
-
EXCELLANT POST bro! I couldnt have said it any better myself. For someone to get jobs or breaks becuase of their skin color or sex is just wrong. AA is total garbage & should be done away with. As long as people keep on "forcing" equal rights & making laws, like AA, to further this - there will always be discrimination, period. How is AA equal? It's makin businesses & other programs pick a certain number of minorities even if someone else is better suited for the job. Kinda a double-standard huh? Are black people discriminated against? probably to some degree. Are women? probably to some degree. However, it's nothing like the activist make it out to be. A white person could make just as good of a case that he or she is being discriminated against. In the women have it harder than men case. LOL, I dont really care. It's fairly even. I could point out certain women that have it 10x harder than most men, and I could point out certain men that have it harder than most of the whole community. First off, to argue childbirth is dumb. A woman has a choice if she wants to do that or not, most of the time anyway. As a whole, women dont work as much as men. SOME WOMEN DO, but as a whole most dont. How many women do you know that runs a sledge hammer 12 hours a day, 6 days a week? I'm sure there's prolly some out there, but I dont know any. Nursing, house cleaning, & other women-dominated jobs dont even compare to some of the jobs men do. Then I could make a case for the women. They are the "weaker" of the two & that 1 in 3 rape statistic is just sad. I know one woman that is a single mom of 2 girls & works long hours as a police officer. A full time cop & a full-time mom, she never has any free time, and she has it harder than a lot of men I know.So it goes both ways. To say in general that either sex has it harder is not very smart as both sexes could make very good cases for both sides.
-
I say we all have it equally hard. Black, white, gay, strait, fat, skinny, tall, short, male, female. We're all discriminated against and I honestly don't see why. We're all the same inside, we all bleed red, we're all human beings. Women and men both go through very hard times, and whos to say which of the sexes leads more difficult lives? We all have our problems, its a fact of life. You live, you learn, you get over it and move on.
-
as far as im aware powerlifter, you have a choice if you want to work in a job with manual labor. and yes, the 1 in 3 rape statistic IS sad. but unfortunately for we women, its true.i realize that depending on certain situations some have it harder than others. but im only arguing body function wise, and bod function wise, it sucks being a woman. some women cant even orgasm! how bad is that!

While agree that a lot of things all come out the same in the end. Women are held to a higher standard and get less respect.
A man can be a slob and no one cares. If a woman doesn't shave her legs people talk about her. If she sleeps around she gets a bad reputation and people avoid her. A "Playa'" so what. No one cares. In fact his buds pat him on the back. If women doesn't meet societal standards she's "let herself go" and men will actually use this as an excuse to cheat on her.
Frequently women are expected to work a 40 hour week just like a man, and then come home cook, clean and take care of the kids. If she falls short in one of those areas everyone looks at her as in adequate. No thinks the father/man should have done more to help.
So while I agree both have it hard. Women have it harder. -
you apparently don't watch maury, or Divorce Court, tons of couples go on there complaining about what their spouses are doing wrong. Both participants. And as far as a guy looking like a complete slob, and no one cares? lol right, I have yet to meet a complete slob making it in life. And if you wanna go weeks without shaving your legs and underarms, or as you put it "letting yourself go" then go to Europe, there are numerous countries where you will not be frowned upon, and it will be accepted as the "norm"...but if you continue to live in America, I'm assuming you do, then you're gonna have to accept that men don't like hairy women...at least not the men i've talked to. I think the point that you made about girls being looked down upon if they have had numerous partners, stems from the guys wanting to think that they are one of, if not the first one to ever "hit that" or have intercourse...I know i'd be worried if my woman knew all the moves from Kama Sutra. why? because if i have the self discipline to keep myself for her, she should be able to do the same. But that's just me.
-
I have it hard. Ok, so i don't get periods etc but i have a tough job (me being gay) Gay men get just as much discrimination as women, probably more.
-
Men have it harder. I just refuse to believe that I could have it any harder than I already do.
-
Talk to me after you've given birth. Babies head, big. Vaginal opening, small. lol
-
i dont think either sex can say whether they have had it harder or not because they havent exsprienced how the other half lives. men may have it hard i dont no because i am not one, but i do no that childbirth is proberly the most painful thing you can exsprience, try squeeze something the size of a melon through something the size of a pinhole. some woman find it less painful than other but the majority of females find it incredibley painful.
-
I thought that way too until I married my first husband. I said they were not the same so they could not be compared. It was apples to oranges. But women in most cultures are treated like they are there to serve men. No servant has it better than their master.
-
I so have to agree with you maggie........spot on......tho I do guess the men folk have their own hardships in life too.....well possibly apart from the fucking uncofortable shoes LOL

In reply to the "Black Lesbian" comment..
Female homosexuals and Male homosexuals are a WORLD apart! Gay GUYS have it SO much rougher than Lesbian GIRLS..(im not saying lesbians don't have it rough, but gay guys do have it rougher)and for the whole birth subject..Yeah..I know is very painful, but your vaginal opening does get larger during birth! What about when guys get kidney stones?! Pissing out a rock would hurt like HELL!
Personally I believe AA has its good and bad attributes..Minorities, and females do have it rougher than white men while gettting jobs, but what about those white men that are actually THE BEST at their job?! They are going to lose that position to a person who is less qualified JUST so a company can fulfill its "Minority" quota!? It works both ways!
Yeahh..females do have menopause..and the whole vaginal wetness thing, but you have NO idea how imbarrising it is to get hard while your stading up giving a presentation infront of a class! It is SO noticable! (especially for guys whose erections are straight out like mine) Girls don't have to worry about getting hard in the middle of a presentation.
Oh yeah, when girls have sex too much(or enjoy it too much) they are called sluts, hoes, whores..ect But what about guys that don't have sex often, or even still have thier virginity at middle 20's? Wanna know what they get called? QUEER! and im pretty sure that homosexuals(male and female) have it MUCH worse than "sluts"
Women don't have it ANY harder than men do, and men don't have it ANY harder than woman. We have different things that are expected of us, and that makes it seem like one has it worse than the other, but its all pretty even if you ask me
Thats from a 13 yr old guy, maybe its different when your older, but I doubt it.
(IM ABOUT TO GET FLAMED HARD! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: ) -
BRAVO!! I agree totally with Kazaya!
-
Kidney stones and men...umm women do pass them as well, you don't know a thing about childbirth or menopause. An erection in class...hmmm what about standing up to find blood on your pants from starting your period early.
