Addictid to scratching...help!
-
im no expert, but my guess would be u need to wash down below a bit more, i heard irritation is caused by the bacteria and crapi get frequent itches and its nice when i sratch itas for it being smooth, id guess its like that because its your "pure" skin, you have scratched most or all the dead skin cells awaybut dont take this as correct as i know nothing, just a guess

Could be jock itch. They have some over the counter powders for that. I'm not sure what they are called at the moment. :smirk:

It could be it's just just sweaty round there. It might also be dry soap (if you use soap) left over from your last wash, that could be irritating your skin. Wash thoroughly and make sure you get a bit of 'air' around the private sector to let it 'breath' every now and then. This helps.

There are a number of things that can make that area itchy:1. Fungal infections, such as "jock itch". This is the most common cause of itchiness there. They are treated with anti-fungal creams, which you can get over the counter at a pharmacy - anything for tinea will do. You need to keep using them two weeks after the symptoms have gone, to make sure all traces of the fungus have gone, or it may come back.2. Bacterial infections. Theese need a topical antibacterial. There are some creams available that are both antifungal and antibacterial.3. Scabies mites or pubic lice (crabs). Scabies is hellishly itchy at night, but it makes the area red so it doesn't sound like you have it. Pubic lice is similar but less intense. Both are treated with insecticide (insect repellents containing pyrethrins work well).4. Prickly heat. I don't know what really causes this, but you can get stuff for it, like Gold Bond powder.5. Allergies. That's not likely, unless you are using or wearing something in that area and not anywhere else.6. Psychology. If you've got into the habit, it may be just the habit combined with expectation that causes the itchy feelings. If you can bear not to scratch for a couple of weeks that would cure it. You could use something soothing to help get through it.There are lots more possible reasons, but those seem the most common.
