Stigmata
-
Welcome sweetie. And Keanu drool Okay i've had the hots for the man for a LONG time LoL.Trying to remember the first movie I scene him in that I was like Giddy Up. I'm thinking it was Devil's Advocate?
-
I can't beleive hes in his 40's i mean he looks a lot younger than that! i agree, as usual with your taste in men hon
-
Aye he's looks awesome for his age. Oh and I was wrong, I had to look at his movies, the first movie I seen him in was "A Walk in the Clouds" Very good movie. There was an 80's movie I seen him in too but never gave him much notice until "A Walk in the Clouds".
Adam always asks me why I'm with him because he knows in general I like men that are older than me. Which in general is true. I like the older inshape professional men. I dunno something about them are such a turn on!

Well, actually Jesus didn't send all these horribles catastrophes to Job. He let Satan to try Job's faith (Satan was free to do whatever he wanted). Are you saying that Jesus's dad, also known as God, is Satan? Because God (that little batterer) kicked Job's ass to prove a point to Satan. Unfortunately, Job took it like a battered woman. Now, who's responsible for creating the stigmata? Is that Jesus' handiwork?
-
Steve what the hell are you talking about with all this jibber jabber on Jesus' dad (God) being Satan. How did you come to the conclusion that thats what you thought she said? I did not see such a statement said that made me conclude the following. She sinply said, God let Satan have his way with Job, because God knew very well that Satan would not be able to break Job's faith and have his back turn to him (God). Yet just to make his point, God said, so be it, you may do what you like with him. In the end it made Job that more righteous of a person even if all the pain and sffering he went through almost made life not worth living while he was being tested. So yea explain to me again where you got lost?
-
Nataku is a lady?"Why does God allow the righteous to suffer?"God stands by and allows Job to suffer horribly, to prove the point that God is great. Job becomes concerned, but never actually crosses the line and calls God a Jerk. Job says, "I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised", which through some twisted logic proves to bible thumpers that "God is deserving of our praise simply on the basis of who He is, apart from the blessings He bestows.", and Satan loses the bet.I don't seen any difference between God, and a parent who stands by and watches while his child is being raped. Sounds pretty Satanic to me. For all intents an purposes, God beat the crap out of Job to prove a point, and Job was too lame to see it. Job was like a battered wife. God seems to have a bigger insecurity complex than Satan. Why did it take so many thousands of years for God to grow up? You'd think the New Testament writers would have tossed out the book of Job.
-
Son of a bitch! I never really though of it that way. You are either Satan himself to spread that around or really put some thought into it to come up with that.
I like it. The comparison to a battered wife, the insecurity complex, it all fits very well actually.
A friend of mine saw the passion of the christ, ths is a man who was in vietnam being shot at and killing people who told me when I met him that there are no athiest in fox holes who told e that that movie only proved to him that god wa a asshole and a bastard and should be tried for child abuse since he sat by and watched his own son suffer for so long and so many times just to let him die.
I know the arguent is that he so loved the world he gave his only begotten son....... but I have to agree with my buddy and I find myself agreeing with this post and the metaphors you used. Im stealing these to screw with the next missionaries that come to my door and want to convert me. -
One thing you have to remember Steve theres almost a "deal" between God and Satan, so to speak. It's up to us human to do what's right, without direct influence of God or Satan. Though Satan will always try with temptation and such (won't go to indepth to stop a wicked debate).
So, when you talk about people being raped and murdered and why god does not interfer, it's because it's not up to him to interfer. It's up to us to make the right decisions in life.
-
But you have to remember.. he also gave life back to his son to live in the heavens with him. Problem is I think you and Steve read so much into religion to the point that you make some obsurb assumptons. Jesus gave up his life for us, it was HIS free will. Who was God to step in and challenge his sons dicision? Jesus did what he did for the love of man-kind.
-
> So, when you talk about people being raped and murdered and why god does not interfer, it's because it's not up to him to interfer.
Yeah, He's a hell of a father. He keeps pretty busy answering the prayers of all those football players.
Why exactly would a loving father stand by as his children kill each other in the most heinous ways?
If you put a an airplane on autopilot, you need to build something airworthy in the first place, if you get the metaphor.
-
First off I find your message "What would Jesus bomb" offensive. Sorry as a christian, that's just how I feel.>Yeah, He's a hell of a father. He keeps pretty busy answering the prayers of all those football players.yeah that's what he's doing. Sometimes I wonder how such a smart man can yet be so bitter about something he supposibly doesn't believe in.>Why exactly would a loving father stand by as his children kill each other in the most heinous ways?Check my above message. He cannot interview, atleast not until the day he returns to earth, as promised. I think there are Angels all around us to guide us if we wish to be guided. Otherwise we are here to make out own future and to make out own way in life. WE are in contro; of out life and estiny and it's up to US to live out lives as we feel according. That's the trust he puts in our hands.
-
Oh one thing I meant to add. You say you bring up religion because it's always thrown in your face. You'd think here, somewhere where you CAN ignore it, you would. Instead, you bring it up more, bash it more than anyone else here. You debate it more than those of us here who are chirstians. That to me is also very mind-boggling.Someone who sure wishes christianity would leave him along, sure invites it in for a cup of coffee and awful lot.
-
First off I find your message "What would Jesus bomb" offensive. Sorry as a christian, that's just how I feel. That's because you don't understand it. Give it a little more thought and we can discuss it. BTW, "Christian" is capitalized.> He cannot interview, atleast not until the day he returns to earth, as promised. Interview? Like Larry King? Or do you mean intercede? We were talking about God...are we now talking about Jesus? In any case, why would he make such a ridiculous promise? How come the answer to "How can you justify...", is always "God/Jesus said..."?If you told your young children, "I'm not going to intercede in your lives until you're retired", would that be a good thing? All those angels flitting around don't seem to be doing much to stem evil behavior. If you're up on history or current events, you'd have to say that they're an utter failure. And now the Catholic church doesn't want gay priests. I'm not sure how they feel about lesbian nuns, with or without stigmata. The church thinks that homosexuality is a disorder.
-
If it's on this ostensibly secular Web site, then it's in my face. If you didn't so enjoy arguing, you wouldn't engage me. Can't God defend himself?> You debate it more than those of us here who are chirstians. That to me is also very mind-boggling.Don't let you mind be so easily boggled. THINK, as IBM used to say.
-
=) Ntrouding =)"So, when you talk about people being raped and murdered and why god does not interfer, it's because it's not up to him to interfer. It's up to us to make the right decisions in life."FREEEEE WILLLLL BABY YEAAAAAAA!Man this world would truly suck ass, if we did have that and God interfered with all of our actions. Its like Ntro said God gives us the free will to do as we please, good or bad. Some will be good some will be bad. Thats just the way the world is. Not that Im Taoist (I think its obvious that Im christian), but the religion makes a good point with there whole ying and yang philosphy. I dont know if your read the Augustine Theodicy, but if you have then your understand why God lets evil exist throughout the world. For one obviously due to free will, but with that put aside, he also lets it exist because it brings out the best in us. While that may be hard for you to except, because youve hard a rough life, keep this in mind. Without pain and suffering people wouldnt have qualities such as compasion, empathy, etc. It is feelings like these that move us to want to help those in need and do what we can for others when we can. So if you expected God to create us as these perfect beings without flaws, this life would so dull and a part of our free will would have to be sacrificed. But really lets just drop this whole religious debate, its people like you that make such debates better off not having because you have to bastardize something you dont believe in rather than conveying your feelings in a respectful way. Now I wont lie there will be fundamentalists on our side that will take anything you say offensive even if its not meant to be offensive, but some of the stuff you say is just rude. And I agree with Ntrod that whole what would jesus bomb signature is pretty lame.
-
>That's because you don't understand it. Give it a little more thought and we can discuss it. BTW, "Christian" is capitalized.
LOl SO sorry but with me other typos there more to attack than my capitalization errors.
>Interview? Like Larry King?
LOL Sometimes my own typoes make me laugh LoL.
>We were talking about God...are we now talking about Jesus? In any case, why would he make such a ridiculous promise? How come the answer to "How can you justify...", is always "God/Jesus said..."?
Well god has never been to earth and no ones has even seen the face of god. Jesus on the other hands was born on earth and reborn to heaven. Jesus made the promise that one day he will return, when we least expect it.
>If you told your young children, "I'm not going to intercede in your lives until you're retired", would that be a good thing?
You're talking on a much different level. We are gods "children" in spiritual way. When it comes to our children, we are responsible to raise them properly. God (Or Jesus, which ever your religion states you pray too) is there for spiritual quidance.
>All those angels flitting around don't seem to be doing much to stem evil behavior. If you're up on history or current events, you'd have to say that they're an utter failure.
Angels are not here to stop natural disasters. they are here for individual guidance. My grandmother used to tell us about the still born child she gave birth too. When the child was born, she seen an Angel above her holding her child. The Angel was there to give her comfort to let her know the child was in heaven and will be taken care of until she herself was in heaven. That's what they are here for. I think you have a mis-informed idea of what Angels are here for.
>And now the Catholic church doesn't want gay priests. I'm not sure how they feel about lesbian nuns, with or without stigmata. The church thinks that homosexuality is a disorder.
I find it disturbing that that's how the catholic church views this problem. It's not gay people molesting these children.. it's very very SICK individuals who are molesting these children.
As for the catholic view on homosexuality.. well, I'm not catholic so their view is very mute to me.
-
>If it's on this ostensibly secular Web site, then it's in my face. If you didn't so enjoy arguing, you wouldn't engage me. Can't God defend himself?
My point Steve was take a look at how many threads were created for the soul purpose of religion. Now take a look how many threads that were not created about religion that you decided to bring up religion. You state religion is constantly thrown in your face, yet YOU are the one that usually strikes the debate by bringing in religion. If you want something eliminated from your life, the first step is eliminating it in your personal and social life when pissible.
-
"I find it disturbing that that's how the catholic church views this problem. It's not gay people molesting these children.. it's very very SICK individuals who are molesting these children."Agreed.Hey Ntrod what protestant branch do you follow if your not catholic? or you dont follow any one in particular?
-
But really lets just drop this whole religious debate......after you have the last word, of course.> Without pain and suffering people wouldnt have qualities such as compasion, empathy, etc. It's been going on since before recorded history, and it continues unabated. God created us without the ability to learn. See what went on in 20th century alone, the most violent century in the history of man. And there's still Darfur, Iraq, and many other places where people are suffering in huge numbers. No one really cares.> Without pain and suffering people wouldnt have qualities such as compasion, empathy, etc.I understand that you're just repeating a stock phrase, but can you prove that?> So if you expected God to create us as these perfect beings without flaws, this life would so dull and a part of our free will would have to be sacrificed.I guess an eternity in heaven will be dull indeed.> And I agree with Ntrod that whole what would jesus bomb signature is pretty lame. Here's a clue: "What would Jesus do?" ==> "What would Jesus drive?" ==> "What would Jesus bomb?"Does it make any more sense, or do you still not get it? It has something to do with hypocrisy.
