Oki have returned to ask a question about something that has been bothering me. Well first off im wondering, when you get blood tests done for cholestorol, diabetes and stuff like that.....would they be able to notice off the bat for other things like hiv and stuff. Do they have to look specifically for it or can they just notice it. Another thing is that im worried. Dont ask me how i got started worrying, but what are the odds if years back i had oral sex from a girl multiple times, to which i have had blood tests since then, then i had it once from another girl. What are the odds that i could have recieved something from either of them. Mind you that last girl was almost a year ago. And i had sex with one girl, once about 9 months ago, i used a condom though. Im just worried for some odd reason. probably because i have a reaccuring sinus infection that wont go away and i heard how you can get sick alot obviously. bah i just need advice

btw neither of the 3 girls that i know of had any type of std. Or that they knew of. which is what worries me, because what if they had something they didnt know about. i believe the last girl that i had sex with only had one other partner besides me, and that was for years. sorry if im freaking out

Personally I don't think you have anything to worry about. Transmition through oral sex is very small (You'd have to have an open wound in the mouth). As for the blood tests, it depends on the doctor. A lot of doctor if they are running blood tests will automatically test for HIV/AIDS. It's best to ask your doctor if it's something they test for while running other blood work.

Tests cost money, they charge you for everything they look for.
If its not on the bill that they ooked for it, you wree not checked for it. Some stuff may show up as an anomily and they will further reasearch it, just a guess, I have no real clue.
I know when I took a drug test for work they saw blood in my piss and ordered further tests but with blood I dont know if it would tell them they need to look further or not I doubt it though. -
thanx but for some odd reason a year later or whatever it hit me. I dont know why. When i last had the blood test done i told him to give me everything, but as far as what that everything was i dont know. all i know is he said i have perfect chemical health, that was before the second and third girl i mentioned. iono if im over reacting, maybe i should get another test done in 10 days when im done with my meds for my infection. If anyone else knows nething or has advice please let me know

For good measure and for your mental knowledge I'd get a blood test done specifically for STD's. Should give you peace of mind that way.
-
Unless there is a medical need for a test, the doctor will not usually order it. Testing is not like a chemical analysis where they throw some blood into a machine and a report is spit out telling what is in it. The lab has to specifically test for each thing they are looking for, and they charge you for each test. If they weren't specifically looking for STI's, they wouldn't report any, even though they might be present.

I don’t know maybe the doctors here are a bit different but I know my doctor, if she draws blood, also tests for HIV/AIDS along with whatever else she's testing for.At any rate I still say if you want peace of mind just have an HIV/AIDS test done. Anymore they don't even need to draw blood, they just swab the mouth.

Does your doctor know you are gay, Eddie? Perhaps she automatically tests for HIV in patients in the "high-risk" groups. I wonder who pays for these tests.
-
My doctor does know I am gay, as I feel it's important that she knows. But most of my family goes to her and she does the same with them. And as far as I know there is never an extra cost. (At least I never see it reflect on a bill, unless it's covered by my insurance).

I went to the doctors and told her my worries. She said i am at very low risk. she also wanted to test for mono incase i am having a relaps of that. After the results it showed that i had no mono, and that my white blood cell count was fine. So i am relieved. But i was freaking out b4 this
