I am sure you are all aware Bush is trying to push YET AGAIN for a ban on gay marriage by adding it in the Constitution. But for those who might be aware here is a link:http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/06/05/same.sex.marriage.ap/My opinion is this is all political for Bush. He is trying to divert peoples attention from his sad war on terrorism and the raise in gasoline prices, not to mention his continue fall in ratings.Plus this is just another political ploy for the Republican Party for the 2008 presidential election. I still believe the only reason Bush got his re-election is because he played this very dirty card and got some of the religious votes. It’s very sad, and dirty, that the President would use something so personal to people just for political gain. Sickens me we have a president like this in office.

When is Bush going to give up!

This is what I wrote to some friends yesterday. . .
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
Bush is on the news, pushing the anti-gay-marriage Constitutional amendment.
I'm flabbergasted. Given the number of hours per day he's willing to work,
is this really the best use of his time? He knows that the amendment has
practically no chance of passing, but he's throwing his bigoted base some
red meat. It's nothing but pandering and posturing for the November
election. It was the first item on the Senate agenda, yet Frist is only
bringing it up now.Who under 40 gives a damn about who marries whom? So far gay marriage has
been legal in Massachusetts for several years, and the world hasn't ended.
No one has married their dog. What is it about Republicans that compel them to keep trying to change the
Constitution to take away rights (abortion, flag burning, etc.)? Their
"social conservative" base is quite Taliban-like. In fact, on social issues,
they're pretty much on the same page. "If you're not with us, you're
against us." It gets confusing, doesn't it?A lot of Wall Street conservatives want to end taxation and dismantle the
government (except for the military, of course, because there are many wars
left to fight), and they blithely, expediently, climb into bed with the
"social conservatives". How do they sleep at night? -
Wow hey there Steve! Welcome back! Oh and well said!

I honestly don't understand why anyone should ban gay marriages.. it's fuckin stupid. People are going to be gay anyways.. why not let them be happily married?Though I like Bush, he is a fucking idiot. Annnd...Welcome back Steve!!!!

Not looking for an argumentArgument? Wha...?The candidates from both parties have pandered to from whomever they think they can realize an advantage. But the pandering Bush has done is particularly ugly. Karl Rove is a master at appealing to people's baser instincts. They roll out the gay-baiting strategy every two years, before the elections. They do say that Bush is another name for cnut.I really do despise that bastard. The second worst has to be Blair. What a complete an utter bastard running my country. Doesn't know anything and is bending over to Mr. Bush.Fucking hell. Why the hell was he voted for in the first place? Kerry was much better. I think you have something there as well Ntroducingmuself. I think you could be right about trying to take the heat of the war in Iraq. But then he is Catholic (I think) and quite religious. Didn't he say he thought that God was speaking to him? I don't know. I just don't see why terrorist or what have you haven't tried to take him out. I mean anyone could do it. The problem comes when you have to get away with it. But then these nutters just don't give a shit anyway. But then Bush is making an incentive for all the terrorists to attack the west.It is complete and utter bastards like him, which give America such a bad name. I just don't like the government and the American foreign policy lording over everyone.I know he can't get voted in again (yeeeeeees) but surely if the majority of Americans dislike him can't you hold protest or something. You could threaten to move out.Mr. hates that bastard Bush Nuts
