No matter what you say, there is always another side. One says that the video is correct, and our Oligarchy of Capitalist Congressmen are slowly whiddling down the public into helpless sheep-like resources. One says that this was an effective and necessary affront to terrorism and important to the safety and security of the citizens inside the United States. However, it is still disturbing, that while understanding both sides of the possibilities surrounding this opinion, that the points created are very true. Being a highly qualified participant in scholarly debate, one word can change the entire meaning of a hundred page document.Being a member of the Armed Forces, a voting citizen, and native born American, I still have concerns over the future of my beloved Nation. The points in the aforementioned film are quite damning to the thoughts of idealistic faith placed in our government. Especially when the media has changed from a service to report the news to an entertainment venue, one must become appalled in the highly opinionated reports from these organizations. As a paleo-conservative, I am Highly disappointed in the Nation and it's government. One can only imagine the Founding Fathers turning in their graves to see what they created developing into a giant glob of federally mandated idiocracy. Why does no one, citizens and government officials alike, read what America is based on? Why does no one turn to the writings of Thomas Jefferson and find reason behind the creation of our government? The Federal Government was created to bring stability to the states, raise and Army, protect individual Freedom, and most importantly, Leave Everyone Alone. It's sad to see what was once a magnificent grassroots democracy slowly die a bureaucratic death.

I got lost in the first 30 seconds of that guy talking. Why do epople have to use all these technical terms, why can't they just say "People in power can now do this [whatever the point of the video is]"
-
Because.. if you don't understand whats being said... you are already a sheep for herding. (I don't mean that offensively in any way however, if they complicate things so that people don't understand them.. its a lot easier to pass)Meh... I'm not pro or anti bush.. but, I believe people have every god given right to bitch about him just like I have the god given right to ignore the people bitching about him.I honestly don't believe in the whole "conspiracy theory" behind 9/11 however, lets face it.. it wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened.America is great because we can whine and bitch and hate eachother.. why are they trying to change that now...Besides the obvious reason.. money...*cracks nuckles.. this is why I need to learn to hax...
-
Because.. if you don't understand whats being said... you are already a sheep for herdingThat guy can talk all he wants, but if I don't understand it, I'm not going to see the point he's trying to make, which means he failed in making his little speech.

sheep seems to be appearing more and more in the forums :|

sighs.Lemme break it down like this. If congress wants to pass something that they know the public is just gunna say "no.. fuck you" they aren't going to be able to say "here.. this law allows molestation of babies". Instead they are going to complicate things. By intentionally complimenting things it makes it harder to understand. With things being harder to understand it makes it that much easier to pass them. The issue in the video is fairly simple. They are trying to make it so that you can not publicly speak out against things. Due to Rosie O donnel publicly talking about the idea that 9/11 was a conspiracy or that it very well may have been set up by the government as an excuse to go to war there is back lash. They are trying to pass a bill which can prevent you from saying "dangerous" things. By dangerous I don't mean yelling "FIRE" in a crowded movie theater.. I mean "I DISAGREE WITH YOU!" the response being "well thats dangerous.. thinkin tom.. so we are sending you to jail" And the police then show up in the night and take you away.In other news.. http://youtube.com/watch?v=HDZ574eh9Yw
-
Isn't america great?I'm pretty sure that violates the freedom of speech in the constituation
-
Yes.. but, as long as they word it complicated enough who is gunna know the difference until its too late?EDIT plus as another user mentioned there are two sides to every coin.On one hand we have freedom of speech. On the other we still can't yell "FIRE" in a crowded theater because people will be directly hurt. The issue at hand can be used in terms of the "FIRE" situation. If they argue something is dangerous to say then we can no longer say it.Thats how they whittle away your rights/freedom.
-
And how do they plan on making "I disagree" sound dangerous?
-
Keep in mind with 2 minutes of searching you can find adn read the bill yourself. Pay attention to language, thats what opens shit up for debate adn why we have so much bullshit and loopholes, its all in the language, Iv watched shit that was meant to protect you be turned against you in union contracts, due to one word being used instead of another.its not what I say or what this guy says, its what can be read into it by the language used in writing it.
-
What a chilling thought , almost every word has two or more views , it is like the saying "one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter" depending on how you are brought up.In my opinion the use of language is a way for the government or person to get themselves out of trouble if needed."we meant it ...."I do however worry about who is going to be the judge for whether you are exercising free speech or whether you are being "dangerous".Soon there will be a bill to allow you to carry guns but not to have bullets.
-
"I think bullets should cost $5,000.. Then there would be no more innocent bystanders. If some guy got shot, you'd be like, Jesus, he must have done something, because they just put $50,000 worth of bullets in his ass...."
-
I can see that along with the
"Hunnie i love you so much i am going to spend 10,000 dollars on you"
or
"hey i got shot , woohoo im rich " after the screams of agony
Nah Joks aside ... i see your point and increasing bullet prices would deffinately make people think twice before purchasing or using them , although where theres a will theres a way. -
Yeah right. You wouldn't be able to buy bullets but criminals will get them cheap or steal them.
-
No, no, no... I wasn't personally saying that, it's a quote. Which is why it's in quotes. I was going to actually put who said it, but I can't remember who it is (Chris Rock?)... It's okay though, I already knew it would confuse people.
-
Why do you think there are so many different sects of Christianity? Language is something that can be modified because it is so abstract and ever-changing. You can always find definitions for a word that change the meaning, even if they are the least used. You can probably do something similar to most bills. Heck, you can even do it with the Constitution; why do you think there are so many interpretations on what parts of it mean?
-
Yeah it was chris rock who said that XD.
Oh also.. In relation to the actual topic... If only life was like oblivion..... Just get speechcraft +20 and your set..
-
THAT, is the entire problem with gun control, you make a quality gun illegal or so pricey that I cant afford to own it, but some piece of shit criminal will steal it, or buy it stolen, or get it from some other source and be able to wreak all the havoc they desire. The problem with guns is the guns its the people. making new laws to ban guns is a waste of time, I love living in an armed society. When more than just criminals have guns ti makes it less likely to have criminals performing crimes.I can prove it beyong a shadow of a doubt.I think Iv brought it up before, but Im not sure, Ill have to do some research, I have stacks of gun magazines, maybe I can google it though, but there is or was a town, I belive it was in Texas but Im not 100% on that where the law stated yuo MUST own a gun if you lived there.guess what the violent crime rate was?fucking nil, zero, nadda, jack fucking shit.its nto the guns that are bad, its the people using them to commit crimes thats the shits, the focus needs to be shifted to punishment of the bastards that break the laws, not to punish honest people that choose to own a gun.THis bill seeks to punish anyone speaking out against the government, you may nto read it that way, but it can be read that way, language is a dangerous bastard.
-
I agree with Chance on this one. I have always and want always to be able to defend myself. There are to many nuts around here who still believe "the only good indian is a dead indian." And they don't use guns, they beat you to death or knock you unconscious and and throw you on the railroad tracks.>>>"...but there is or was a town, I believe it was in Texas but I'm not 100% on that where the law stated you MUST own a gun if you lived there.guess what the violent crime rate was?fucking nil, zero, nadda, jack fucking shit."The one you probably read about is Geuda Springs KS, there is also a town in Georgia, Kensaw or something like that, that has had the law on the book since the early '80s. There may be a town it Texas as well but I haven't heard of it.While I don't support gun control, I think these arguments are a bit of a paper tiger and I don't get why the NRA or any other gun rights advocate tries to sight them. Geuda Springs has a population that is just over 200 and that's probably counting all the dogs. The town in Georgia was about the same, I think. Other than Ernest T. stealing a chicken on occasion these towns didn't have any crime anyway, at least not in the last 80 years. All in all, I don't think these two towns make a good case study to support the argument, one way or the other. With regard to Geudo Springs, I unfortunately have to drive by there whenever I'm headed to Wichita, KS. God help me if I ever break down there because there is no way I would feel safe with those people and their guns. As a matter of fact many of them are the reason I carry a gun.
