citing Hugh Ross would be like looking to Darwin for an unbiased critasism of creation.that math is laughable. As we explore and we discove more of the univers on a daily basis, we find it to be nearly boundless. To imagine that life could only occure on one planet, circling one sun, in one galaxy is like imagining that only one seed will germanate in an entire farmer's field.

I'm back, BUT...

God loves both christians and Atheists. God loves murders and abusers... He hates the sin but loves the person. Christians sin...and he hates their sins too. so........ anyone get anything out of this lession?!
this is probably the smartest thing said in this ENTIRE thread.

I agree.

Do you know what it means to cherry pick? It means that you chose things that support your case, and dispense with those that oppose it. Sometimes people overlook 100 strong points that oppose their belief, and focus on the single one that supports it, even if it's very weak.No one really knows what the true probability is of finding life beyond the Earth. Many respected astronomers think it's far higher than what the astronomer you cited thinks. If life is discovered on another planet, does your belief system crumble? If so, that would explain why one would would have difficulty being objective. You should search for the definition of proof. In any case, it's not "wishful thinking". For instance, the presence or absence of life on Mars does not prove or disprove evolution on Earth. The author of that page was obviously not trying to cast life on the subject; he was trying to advance his belief, the same way it's often done in political debate. Quote:Yes I believe God's knowledge and ability is infinite, that He created all living things, except I don't think all living things are perfect. Humans are not perfect. God set that up in the Garden of Eden so that Jesus could come to earth to die for our sins. Why would God create creatures that are physically imperfect if he is omniscient and omnipotent? Why did God set things up for such drama? WHat does it mean that Jesus died if Jesus was a diety? Is it really possible for Jesus to die?

Until they find an ounce of life on another planet, which they can't, because it would take hundreds of years to travel to the next solar system where there may not even be life, I have to keep my faith in God and Jesus. Mars, which is the only planet, that could have potentially supported life, has been found to be barren of any life. Maybe the beds of previous rivers, but no life. So since Mars doesn't contain life, we stand a .0000000001% chance of finding life anywhere else. Because any other galaxies or solar systems are too far away to be explored in a lifetime. In the beginning God created everything and he created Adam and used the rib of Adam to make Eve. Thus, we have 2 humans. Everything was perfect in the Garden of Eden, free of sin, etc. However the devil came along in serpent form and caused Eve to eat the apple of the forbidden tree. Thus, man sinned, etc, etc. They got kicked out permanently. God did this so that there was sin in the world and so that Jesus could come and die for our sins. If there wasn't any sin in the world there would be no reason to believe in God or ask God for forgiveness and guidance. HE SACRIFICED HIS SON FOR US. He did this to show his love for us and to show the love of Jesus. Doing that would attract people to God and Jesus. Of course Jesus can die, he's in human form! But his spirit is all that God is concerned. In actuality we never die. Only our flesh dies but our spirit is eternal.God gave us free will, which is how man sinned. If he could control us all there would've been no point to create us in the first place. Jeez. Please review your questions before asking me. It's incredibly frustrating.

Quote:Sin screwed it up for us. cough Eve ...coughdam her! We could all be walking around naked! the reason she feel to sin is cuz it was portrayed to be something nice and good. most people fail to relies that evil is not always ugly... Take luthfer (aka the devil / satin) for example He IS a beautiful angel...not some red demon with horns like he’s portrayed to look like.

hahahaha yes damn eve! EVEn though adam accepted to eating the apple.

Au contraire, I think my questions were well thought out, but your responses follow the standard script. Have you really, deeply thought about what they mean?It has not been proven that there is no life on Mars and never has been. Only a very small part of the very surface of Mars has been examined. As far as the rest of the universe is concerned, precious little observation has been made. If alien life is discovered 200 years hence, do the Abramic religions come crashing down?Your idea of God seems a bit limited. Do you think something can't exist if it's not mentioned in the scriptures, and if such a thing is discovered, it nullifies them? Why? Airplanes and computers exist, but they're not mentioned. Why do you think the possibility of life beyond the earth would demolish your religion?

Are you saying that some questions are beyond the pale? If your system of beliefs is central to your life, how could you leave any stone unturned? If it's something you prefer not to think about, that's fine, but I will persevere.I have a question about free will that was mentioned by cooldawg2 a few posts back, when he challenged my ability to form questions. If God is omniscient, then he knew a prori how everything would turn out before he even took the first step toward creation. Since he knew how everything would turn out from the start, then what does it really mean to have free will? It seems like a pointless exercise we're going through. If God created all the people, or the people who would create the future generations...you know what I'm getting at.

Whoot, I'm more loved than Johnny Depp.
