Hi. I don't really want to get into the whole story, but I'll just say that I'm in college and live with my friend's family. I have really gotten to like his sister over the past year and a half I've been living with his family. I never felt this way about a girl before. So I have kind of constantly been trying to see if she likes me. I can be pretty shy, so I'm always trying to see if she's giving any signs that she's attracted to me. Sometimes I think that she is, and it makes me really happy to think that I might have a chance. Other times she might give off vibes that she isn't attracted to me, which makes me really depressed. But she seems like the perfect girl for me. She's smart and funny, and she's kind of a geek like me. However, lately I've been kind of been coming to the conclusion that she doesn't like me. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I do still have a chance. But I've just gotten tired of going through the happiness highs and the depressing lows over her. And lately I've been a lot more depressed than happy. In fact, I've barely ever been happy lately. So I just want it to end. I want to forget about her and move on. But I can't. I just can't stop thinking about her. It's literally driving me crazy, and it's making me so depressed. And the biggest problem is that I LIVE with her. So it's kind of hard to forget her or to avoid her when we live under the same roof. I just don't really know what to do. Any advice on how to move on, or any advice on other options I might have? Thanks.

Depressed Over a Girl

Why move on so quickly? Clearly in your situation you can't really tick her off, but have you tried asking her if she's interested in doing things with you--just the two of you (go to the Mall, a movie, get a bite to eat)? See how whe acts away from the rest of the family. If, after a good test, you decide that she's not into you you've got a choice to make: Can you get over her (meet new friends) or do you need to find somewhere else to live (so she stops breaking you heart) and you can move on.Right now, though, it's too soon to make that decision. Give the relationship time to grow.

From painful experiance mate, I personally would say your best to keep away.
Problem is that if you do get into a relationship with her, since u live togeather its gonna be intense and would undoutedly cause friction in the house. If it turns out shes not into you, again very awkward!
If you guys lived appart, then maybe
The best strategy with women is to 'strike whilst the iron is hot', it shows your not a pussy and you know what you want, and is the best way to meet up with girls.
Your iron is undoutedly quite cold now, probably a lost oppertunity.
There really are soo many amazing girls out in this world, dont worry too much about one coz the'll be an even better one round the corner!
Good luck on whatever you do! -
thanks for the advice! even though both gave very different answers, so I still don't really know what to do. But I'll just try to keep going on in life. Maybe someday somet hing will happen between us. But for right now, I think I'll just go on as if she's not really interested in me, I guess. I don't know. If anyone else wants to give more advice, I'll listen.

Does your friend want you seeing her sister? If not, then forget about it. If you date her and break up with her... living under the same roof will be 10x as hard.

talk to herI know it's easier said than done but it's the only way to resolve things. Either it's off and you move on, or it's on and you go for it.It's better to get shot down than to slowly drown in a sea of hopefulness. Also, imagine if she is interested in you but moves on with someone else because she didn't think you were interested in her.
