For the life of me...I can't imagine a woman carrying a baby from a rapist. Just imajine carrying that awefull bloodline. I am for pro choice, yes they are living beings but will never remember or know or go to heaven or hell, they simply do not exist. It would be crazy if my wife was raped and she was forced to carry that child. Same goes for young ladies that want to party and won't grow up. Crack will ruin a normal pregnacy.

Are you a Pro-life or Pro-choice...
-
well, that's a good question. When the pope critisizes Canada for "pro choice" laws, does he have a snappy solution for a wife and husband who are expecting a 3rd child as a result of the woman's rape?Maybe he thinks god prefers a teenager to perform a knitting needle abortion and possibly die... after all, that's natural selection right? OH SHIT wait a second...
-
I really don't know right now! but after i heard about the method of a partial birth abortion it really disgusted me. I shouldn't be for reckless teenagers but maybe for woman who's life is in danger from being pregnant.
-
i know im yung but abortion is wrong....just cuz u were raped u are depriving someone of life! just cuz their not born yet doesn't mean their not alive...they could be the person who cures cancer...and maybe they can be a terrorist...but...umm..still its wrong and it should be illegal.....thats just my view.....i think its murder......

Wow, I remember this thread...I'm gonna ignore the whole "a foetus is alive" stuff and go straight for the rape comment. As guys, we have a slightly separated perspective when it comes to this particular subject. But just put yourself into the shoes of a 12 year old girl who was brutally raped and ravaged by her fat dirty drunk of a father for as long as she can remember. She finally gets away from him through social services and she is free of his abuse, but he has left a little present for her. The poor girl is pregnant with the child of this monster. Would you keep it, knowing that it is the result of a truly evil act and is a constant reminder of your tortured past?

I am pro choice, i think people should have the choice to do whatever they wish. While i dont like the idea of abortions, i feel that if someone feels they should have one, then by all means they should. and on the second one, sorry i've forgoten how to spell it, i agree with angel, i would not wish to burden my family
-
Well he's 14 so I think that's a good age to start taking this matter seriously. He's maturing sexually, he may be having sex within the next few years, so its important to get straight on a few things.
-
well, I tend to take a very liberal position when it comes to these issues, but when it comes to abortion I'm kind of in the middle. I think that certain people should have a choice. Their should be restrictions. If you're under 18, then I say that you have the right to choose. If you were raped, then you have the right to choose. And if having the baby is a big threat to your health or your life, then you should not have the baby. Just about every other scenario, you should have the baby. If you really didn't want it, then why didn't you have protection, and there's always adoption. This is my current stand on the issue, but I've been swinging back and forth on the issue. My position can change on a weekly or monthly basis.

A.V. - Well it must be considered that abortion can be an awful, traumatic experience for a girl/woman.Rad - Altho ultimately it is the girl's choice, I believe that a responsible guy should have a strong say in the matter.

I think most people would consider my views generally pretty liberal, but I disagree with abortion. You have expressed a fairly extreme case, bob, but even in this case I do not see it as justified. There is a strong demand for babies for adoption, so there would be no need for a "constant reminder". In any case, in a situation like that would usually be unforgettable and a reminder would make no difference. The idea that a person could be considered expendable because he/she is a reminder of something seems wrong to me, anyway. Many children are the result of an abusive father, but are loved by their mother anyway. The child does not carry the sins of the father.I don't consider, either, BTW, that this is something that a male is not allowed to have an opinion on (and I know it wasn't you who said this, bob). If a woman says that all males should be castrated at birth I will disagree with her, but I will not suggest that she has no right to such a view because she is a woman.Nor do I accept that it is encompassed within a woman's right to do what she likes with her own body. First, because biologically it isn't her own body, and second, because the general principle doesn't hold, anyway. You can't do what you like with your own body - you can't use your hands to strangle me, for example, even if you want to.

Look, in a situation such as an incest rape pregnancy, would it be fair or great if the child comes out mentally challenged because of it?. Any woman should be able to choose within a small window of pregnancy. I guess that when guys jack off instead of cumming in a pussy, they are killing innocent sperm cells that create life. The catholics made that one up. When a guy has a wet dream, there should be a fertile pussy to capture his sperm. Waste not!

Is a tiny human-like growth with no self-awareness life? (We're talking animal life.) I'm not heartless in this situation, I'm not a fan of abortion and I truly hope that I'll never have to make such a decision. (I've come close and abortion was discussed as an option.) But at the moment I see this from a subjective view, if the parent cannot support the child then they need not have it. Having children is something that should be decided on, as a species we have evolved to a point where we are in a unique position to pick and chose what we do with our lives. Ruining your life over the potential life of another is, to me, ridiculous. People chose not to have children, they use all required and advised protection yet it still happens. Why should these people have to go through the emotional, financial and ageing task of bringing up children that they neither wanted nor were ready for?Adoption is, of course, always an option but why must we throw more children into the system instead of taking care of all the ones already there? And I agree with Ninja, I believe that abortions can only occur within a small window of the pregnancy. Once the foetus becomes self-aware or reaches a point between sentience and sapience, then you have passed the point of no return. (Its slightly more complicated than that, but its the basics.)

But it does bring up a great point about trying to put a disabled child up for adoption.

Ugh. You bitches are taking away all the thunder from my abortion post Post there instead of keeping this thread alive!LOL

I did post in your thread, I love your thread! I wish more people would post in it! I may post in it again, just to get the ball rolling again!

I've stated my position, and don't really want to add to it. I have no idea when it is approporiate to set the beginning of life, because it's really a gradual process - but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen until birth (which I see you agree with). One issue, though, that has come up in this thread and the other on the same topic is the idea that people need to be allowed to keep control of their lives. I don't think this is true - I don't think we ever have full control. Things happen around us and to us that we have no control over; and other things happen that we caused but didn't see the consequences of at the time. This is part of normal life, and I think the view that we make our own lives, while it contains some truth, is largely myth. What we can control is how we react to and accept the things that happen; though even here, doing the right thing does not guarantee us happiness, and some of the best people suffer the most.Motherhood (and fatherhood) may be unplanned, but that doesn't mean they are disasters.

When I turn friggin 35, I'm going to run for president. None of those dumbasses on Capitol Hill are using their brains. Okay... I am pro life. Don't allow them to abort their kids. They shouldn't have spread their legs in the first place. Only under the consensus that they were raped should they have abortion rights. It's not right to be forced to bare the child of a criminal...This brings me to the second half of my conclusion. Gay marriage. They should allow it. If the parents don't want the kid, let them put the children into orphanages or the adoption system or whatever. Gay couples feel better about adopting children IF they are married. So, if they were allowed to marry, they would have a broader want to adopt. If only one of the people running for president used this as their campaign... they'd win hands down. Good Frikkin' Day.
