"Stick to your guns" by Jon Bon...Don't really want to be a cowboy, but the song so sticks with me, lots of truth in it, at least in my life. Funny, I haven't heard it in YEARS!!! So, I highlighted the stuff I sing to myself every now and then...LOLSo you want to be a cowboyWell you know it's more that just a rideGuess you got to know the real thingIf you want to know the other sideAin't nobody riding shotgunIn this world tonightAnd when you spit, you better mean itYou got to make 'em all believe itIf you're gonna be the oneStick to your gunsAin't nobody gonna hurt you, babyYou can pull the triggerBut only if you have toAim from the heartSome will love and some will curse you, babyAnd you can go to warBut only if you have toIt's only if you have toSo you want to be the big timeSome people have to drag you downThere's no living in the backseatIf you're gonna drive through townAnd when you pray for independenceBoy, you better stand your groundYou got to give it all you got nowOr you might get shot downFight hard until the battle is wonStick to your gunsAin't nobody gonna hurt you, babyYou can pull the triggerBut only if you have toAim from the heartSome will love and some will curse you, babyAnd you can go to warBut only if you have toBut only if you have toSoloWell, you know that I been through itI got the scars to prove itFight hard and the Battle is yoursStick to your gunsAin't nobody gonna hurt you, babyYou can pull the triggerBut only if you have toAim from the heartSome will love and some will curse you, babyAnd you can go to warBut only if you have toIt's only if you have toBut stick to your guns

I never dreamed - Black label societybeautiful song with a beautiful guitar soloMy father told me always be strong son,Don’t you ever cry.You find the pretty girls and then you love them,Then you say goodbye.I never dreamed that you would leave me, But now you’re gone (gone, gone).I never dreamed that I would miss you.Woman won’t you come back home,Back home.I never dreamed that you could hurt me, And leave me blue.I’ve had a thousand maybe more women, But never one like you.I never dreamed that I could feel so emptyBut now I’m down, down, downI never dreamed that I would beg you,Woman I need you now (I need you now)It seems to me that I took your love for granted,Feels to me that this time I was wrong (so wrong).Oh lord, now I feel so lonely, yeahWoman, won’t you come back home.I Tried to do what my father taught me, But I think he knew.Someday that I would find one woman like you.I never dreamed that it could feel so good, Lord. That two could be one.I never knew about sweet love lord, Woman won’t you come back home (back home).

hmmmm, one is tough, but i am listenign to "Dont Look Back In Anger" by Oasis, and its gotta be top 5 for me, so yea, it'll doSlip inside the eye of your mind Don't you know you might find A better place to play You said that you've never been But all the things that you've seen They slowly fade away So I'll start a revolution from my bed 'Cuz you said the brains I had went to my head Step outside, summertime's in bloom Stand up beside the fireplace Take that look from off your face You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out And so, Sally can wait She knows it's too late as we're walking on by Her soul slides away But don't look back in anger I heard you say Take me to the place where you go Where nobody knows Where nobody knows if it's night or day Please don't put your life in the hands Of a rock and roll band Who'll throw it all away I'm gonna start a revolution from my bed 'Cuz you said the brains I had went to my head Step outside, 'cuz summertime's in bloom Stand up beside the fireplace Take that look from off your face 'Cuz you ain't ever gonna burn my heart out And so, Sally can wait She knows it's too late as she's walking on by My soul slides away But don't look back in anger I heard you say So, Sally can wait She knows it's too late as we're walking on by Her soul slides away But don't look back in anger I heard you say So, Sally can wait She knows it's too late as she's walking on by My soul slides away But don't look back in anger Don't look back in anger I heard you say At least not today.

I could never pick a single favorite, but if I were forced to it would be either by The Doors, Warren Zevon, Stevie Ray vaughn, or maybe even the Rolling Stones, back when the stones were good, not the candy ass pop shit htey push out today, but back before kieth richards brains were fried, back when he still was frying them. maybe Paint It Black, I have a kick ass version of that one done by helloween, or maybe even a song by helloween called I want out form keeper of he seven keys part two back in the 80'sFrom our lives beginnings on, we are pushed in little forms noone asks us how wed like to be....Fuck it, its a good song and has alot of meaning to me so Im gonna have to google the lyrics for reprinting...From our lives' beginning onwe are pushed in little formsno one asks us how we like to bein school they teach you what to thinkbut everyone says different thingsbut they're all convinced thatthey're the ones to see[Bridge:]So they keep talking and they never stopand at a certain point you give it upso the only thing that's left to think is this[Chorus:]I want out--to live my life aloneI want out--leave me beI want out--to do things on my ownI want out--to live my life and to be freePeople tell me A and Bthey tell me how I have to seethings that I have seen already clearso they push me then from side to sidethey're pushing me from black to whitethey're pushing 'til there's nothing more to hear[Bridge:]But don't push me to the maximumshut your mouth and take it home'cause I decide the way things gonna be[Chorus:]I want out--to live my life aloneI want out--leave me beI want out--to do things on my ownI want out--to live my life and to be freeThere's a million ways to see the things in lifea million ways to be the foolin the end of it, none of us is rightsometimes we need to be alone[Solo: Kai/Both]No no no, leave me alone[Chorus:]I want out--to live my life aloneI want out--leave me beI want out--to do things on my ownI want out--to live my life and to be freeand a singe by SRV, while he didnt write the lyrics it was written for him by a band member and tha holds a hell of a lot of relevance for me as well, especially being an alchoholic:Hello there, my old friend, not so long ago it was 'till the endWe played outside in the pouring rain,on our way up the road we started over againYou're livin' a dream, wo you on topMy mind is achin', Lord it won't stopThat's how it happens, livin' life by the dropUp and down that road in our worn out shoes, talkin' 'bout good things and signin' the bluesYou went your way, I stayed behindWe both knew it was just a matter of timeYou're livin' a dream, wo you on topMy mind is achin', Lord it won't stopThat's how it happens, livin' life by the dropNo wasted time, we're alive todayChurnin' up the past, there's no easier wayTime's been between us, a means to an endGod it's good to be here walkin' together my friendYou're livin' a dream, wo you on topMy mind is achin', Lord it won't stopThat's how it happens, livin' life by the dropThat's how it happens, livin' life by the dropThat's how it happens, livin' life by the dropit was written about his addictions to booze specifically and to some degree his addiction to coccaine, but can be applied to any serious addiction.Anything by the lizard king was great, jim was OK at singing his shit, but he was always a great writer, look at lyrics for any of the electric poets songs. To be appreciated, the SRV song really needs to be heard, nto read, so from the greatest guitarist to ever have lived, al though this song is not the greateest demo of his abilities I bring you all the way from YouTube, Stevie Fucking Ray Vaughs, life by the drop.

Struggled to choose between "your winter" and "champagne high" by sister hazel, eventually went with the latter. I just love it, it has so much meaning.I wasn't looking for a lifetime with you And I never thought it would hurt just to hear "I do" and "I do" And I do a number on myself And all that I thought to be And you'll be the one That just left me undone By my own, hesitation Bridge and for the million hours that we were well I'll smile and remember it all then I'll turn and go while your story's completed mine is a long way from done. Chorus Well I'm on a champagne high Where will I be when I stop wondering why On a champagne high I'd toast to the future but that'd be a lie On a champagne high, high Spring turned to summer But then winter turned to mean The distance seemed right At the time it was best - to leave And to leave behind What I once thought was fine And so real - to me And while I'm still gone On the quest for my song I'm at your - celebration Bridge & Chorus Your wagons been hitched to a star Well now he'll be your thing that's new Yeah what little I have you can borrow 'Cause I'm old and I'm blue... Bridge Well I'm on a champagne high (so high) Where will I be when I stop wondering why On a champagne high (so high) Toast to the future but that'd be a lie On a champagne high Where will I be when I stop wondering why On a champagne high...high... So high so high you left me undone so high, so high you left me undone...

I have too many favorite songs, cannot pick one. But right now I am feeling Simple Plan's song "How Could This Happen to me". Sums up how I have been feeling the last few months.
**"How Could This Happen to Me"**Simple Plan
I open my eyes
I try to see but I'm blinded by the white light.
I can't remember how
I can't remember why
I'm lying here tonight
And I can't STAND the pain
And I can't make it go away
No I can't STAND the pain*CHORUS*
How could this happen to me
I've made my mistakes
got nowhere to run
The night goes on as I'm fading away
I'm sick of this life
I just wanna scream
How could this happen to meEverybody's screaming
I try to make a sound but no one hears me
I'm slipping off the edge
I'm hanging by a thread
I wanna start this over again
So I try to hold
On to a time when
Nothing mattered
And I can't explain
What happened and I can't erase the things that I've done
No I can't*CHORUS*
How could this happen to me
I've made my mistakes
got nowhere to run
The night goes on as I'm fading away
I'm sick of this life
I just wanna scream
How could this happen to meI've made my mistakes
got nowhere to run
The night goes on as I'm fading away
I'm sick of this life
I just wanna scream
How could this happen to me -
I honestly don't have one. But if I have to pick one, I guess it would be Isn't This A Lovely Day (To Be Caught In The Rain), when sung by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. No big dark meaning or anything behind it. I just enjoy the song.
_The weather is fright'ning
The thunder and lightning
Seem to be having their way
But as far as I'm concerned, it's a lovely day
The turn in the weather
Will keep us together
So I can honestly say
That as far as I'm concerned, it's a lovely day
And everything's O.K.Isn't this a lovely day
To be caught in the rain?
You were going on your way
Now you've got to remainJust as you were going, leaving me all at sea
The clouds broke, they broke and oh!
What a break for meI can see the sun up high
Tho' we're caught in the storm
I can see where you and I
Could be cozy and warmLet the rain pitter patter
But it really doesn't matter
If the skies are gray
Long as I can be with you it's a lovely day_ -

I retract and withdraw my earlier submission for favorite song. I had forgotten about this song till I popped in the CD going home last night. Crazy Love by Van Morrison. Ray Charles also sings it pretty good. This one does have a special meaning to me. It's how I feel about my wife whenever I'm away from her... then of course, after were around each other for to long I wonder what the hell I was thinking.
_I can hear her heart beat for a thousand miles
And the heavens open every time she smiles
And when I come to her thats where I belong
Yet Im running to her like a rivers songChorus:
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy love
She give me love, love, love, love, crazy loveShes got a fine sense of humor when Im feeling low down
And when I come to her when the sun goes down
Take away my trouble, take away my grief
Take away my heartache, in the night like a thiefChorus:
Yes I need her in the daytime
Yes I need her in the night
Yes I want to throw my arms around her
Kiss her hug her kiss her hug her tightAnd when Im returning from so far away
She gives me some sweet lovin brighten up my day
Yes it makes me righteous, yes it makes me feel whole
Yes it makes me mellow down in to my soulChorus_
